The original creator and host of “Loveline” is back! The Poorman is back with his new radio show that is going to draw listeners in Los Angeles and Orange County back to their radio every weekday night for a radio show that is fresh, exciting and very cutting edge. With Dr. Shahin Chandrasoma MD and Dr. Synaz MD at his side, they are ready to hit the airwaves on Valentine’s Day 2005! Broadcasting over the airwaves at 1540 The Ticket, “Love Calls” promises to be everything that Poorman’s old radio show wasn’t.

The show’s format allows listeners to call in (or email in to give those shy ones an option to participate) with their love problems or questions to ask the professionals. With Poorman (a seasoned radio vet and the man who hangs out with bikini girls regularly) and Tiffany plus two licensed doctors, the show has all its bases covered.

During every show, celebrity guests will be invited into the studio as “guest love doctors”. This is an awesome opportunity for interviews with celebrities that are far from the norm. Obviously with this type of show format celebrities will be asked for their opinions in certain circumstances that are usually inappropriate in other interviews. Additionally, callers have the opportunity to ask their favorite celebrities questions such as “Have you ever had an experience with, done this, taken this…” This is one of the most awesome dynamics of the program!

There are two important differences between “Love Calls” and “Loveline”. First, there is an emphasis on an equal nightly female viewpoint with a female co-host and a female medical doctor. “Loveline” has an all male hosting cast. Not only does this create an atmosphere that is more comfortable for female callers, but it also gives men callers the female view on subjects. Second, the creator and original host of “Loveline”, Poorman, returns to freshen and further a format that has not been tweaked since he left.

This program, of course, taps into the most powerful of human biological nighttime needs…companionship. More than any other time, people tend to think about love, sex, relationships, and other personal issues at night. Whenever they have problems, they’ll first call their friends for advice. If there’s a medical or emotional issue that requires a qualified expert, people still call their friends first. “Love Calls” mirrors real life. In its simplest form, listeners are provided a forum to call in and discuss these issues in a relaxed setting. The “friends” are the publicly familiar hosts and celebrities. If the problem gets technical, a medical doctor is part of the friendly mix and can easily offer a professional opinion. Problems on this show involve topics that we all deal with as human beings; thus, it is compelling to the listener. Also, one thing that you learn from doing this kind of show, the problem is always funny unless it’s yours! For these reasons, it fits the two-prong radio formula to success…information and entertainment.

Now, I know your gonna say it.
